Software Developer to join a Madrid based leading global alternative investment fund with a primary focus on AI and Data. 

You will be part of an exciting journey for a start-up within a global fund. As a Software Developer a key part of this role will be to help build the culture and environment as the client expands their footprint. 

Please note – Candidates must be able to show academic excellence via a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, a hard science, or a related field, ideally from top tier universities in the UK or Europe. 

This role will be fully office based in their Madrid location. If you are a UK applicant (or non-EU), you must have Spanish residencia (TIE Card).

    • What You Will Be Doing 

  • Engineers actively engage with a wide range of business functions to leverage their knowledge and exposure 
  • Exercising judgement and acumen to understand the true business need beyond the obvious stated requirements 
  • Challenging current systems and processes to achieve common goals through technical excellence and innovation 
  • Keeping abreast of industry and technology trends that will keep the client at the forefront of what is possible

    • What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role 

  • Must have – Demonstration of academic excellence via a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, a hard science, or a related field, ideally from a top university, Russell Group if from UK or leading University if from Spain or rest of Europe. 
  • Excellent programming, technology, and system design skills, including an in-depth understanding of and recent programming experience with C#/.Net or other object orientated languages such as C++ or Python 
  • Experience working with SQL databases 
  • Azure or AWS experience
  • An entrepreneurial nature, willing to take ownership and thrives on innovation
  • The ability to own all aspects of engineering projects from start to finish
  • A desire to understand and solve business problems, build domain knowledge and increase market understanding 
  • The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients as well as team members 
  • Financial Services experience a bonus
