Software Development Engineer in Test (Java)

You will own the test strategy, automation, and release quality for web-based SaaS applications. Working closely with product owners, engineers, SMEs, and clients, you will ensure every release meets high standards of quality, performance, and reliability.

Key responsibilities:

• Understand business, functional, and non-functional requirements and validate them with SMEs
• Partner with product owners to define and refine acceptance criteria
• Align with clients on testing scope, expectations, test data, and environment readiness
• Own test planning, strategy, effort estimation, schedules, dependencies, and risks
• Design, build, and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks
• Track quality metrics, prepare test reports, and make release readiness recommendations
• Triage and prioritize defects with engineering teams and stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and process enhancements

Ideal Candidate

• You have 5+ years of hands-on software testing experience
• You bring strong expertise in Java-based test automation for web applications
• You have experience with Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured, Gherkin, JUnit or TestNG
• ISTQB certification, mobile automation using Appium, and exposure to AWS or S3 are a strong plus
• You are comfortable working with Git, Jenkins or similar CI CD tools, and defect tracking systems like JIRA
• You understand Agile Scrum, defect lifecycle management, and test strategy design
• You can analyze requirements and translate them into clear, effective test plans
• You communicate clearly with engineers, product managers, and clients
• You care deeply about product quality, stability, and user experience
