Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead an exceptionally talented team of software engineers in advancing this critical part of OCI’s platform. You will drive innovation and scale to ensure our Telemetry systems remain among the most reliable, performant, and intelligent in the modern cloud landscape.
The ideal candidate brings strong people leadership, systems thinking, and deep DevOps/SRE expertise, with a proven track record of operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
People & Organizational Leadership
Lead, mentor, and grow multiple DevOps and SRE teams (managers and senior ICs). Drive talent strategy including hiring, performance management, career development, and succession planning. Foster a culture of ownership, operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement . Partner with Product, Development, Security, and Program Management leaders to align execution with business priorities. Operates with strategic mindset and long-term vision. Makes data-driven decisions balancing speed, quality, and reliability. Acts as a role model for Oracle leadership principles. Drives cross-org alignment and execution at scale. DevOps & SRE Strategy
Define and execute the DevOps and SRE vision , roadmap, and operating model aligned with Oracle Cloud standards. Establish best practices for: CI/CD pipelines and release automation Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response Reliability engineering, SLIs/SLOs, and error budgets Drive adoption of automation to reduce toil and improve engineering velocity. Reliability, Availability & Operations
Own platform reliability, availability, performance, and scalability across production environments. Lead incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incident reviews. Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards. Balance feature velocity with reliability through data-driven decisions. Technical Leadership
Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight for: Cloud-native services (OCI, Kubernetes, microservices) CI/CD platforms and tooling Observability and logging stacks Review designs and influence architectural decisions without micromanaging. Stay current with industry trends in DevOps, SRE, and cloud engineering. Career Level - M3
