Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET-II)

Job Summary
We are looking for an SDET-II who is passionate about building scalable test automation systems, improving engineering quality at speed, and preventing defects before they reach production. You will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Dev Ops teams to design, build, and own automation frameworks that enable rapid and reliable delivery.
As an SDET-II, you are expected to own quality for one or more services, contribute production-grade automation code, and influence engineering teams to adopt shift-left testing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable automation frameworks for API, backend, and UI systems.
Own test strategy and quality outcomes for assigned services or features.
Build high-quality automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Partner with developers during design and implementation to identify risks early.
Identify, reproduce, and isolate defects with clear RCA and actionable insights.
Improve test reliability, execution speed, and signal-to-noise ratio.
Drive shift-left testing, ensuring strong unit, integration, and contract test coverage.
Actively participate in code reviews, test design reviews, and quality discussions.
Use production metrics, incidents, and customer issues to strengthen test coverage.
Mentor junior SDETs and contribute to team-wide testing standards.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience in test automation or software engineering
Strong programming skills in Java
Hands-on experience with API automation (REST, JSON, HTTP, Postman, Rest Assured, etc.)
Hands-on experience with UI automation (Playwright)
Experience with test frameworks
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, Git Lab, etc.)
Experience testing distributed systems / microservices
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
