Job Description
The Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and testing of automated electronic and pneumatic control components and systems.
Compose and review Machine Functionality Document
Define/Document I/O lists for control system
Program PLC and HMI according to functionality document
Program servos, robots, vision systems, laser welding, leak testers, etc.
Debug/Troubleshoot automated control systems and machine function
Interact with co-workers, customers, and vendors
Support installation and machine runoff at PIA (or customer) and gain customer approval
Write technical machine operating manuals
Requirements:
BSEE Preferred or AS with 5 years' PLC/HMI experience
Experience writing and debugging PLC programs
HMI/SCADA experience is an asset
Robotics experience (any manufacturer) is an asset
Understanding of at least one of the following programming environments
Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000
Siemens STEP 7
