Software Engineer (Remote Europe)

Location: Stockholm or Remote (within ±5 hours CET, Europe)

A Swedish-founded technology company with a global footprint and international engineering team is building an industry-leading identity and API security platform .

The product combines identity management and API security to enable highly secure, scalable access to digital services. It handles complex security standards and makes them configurable, flexible, and easy to deploy.

The solution is not SaaS . It is installed directly into customer environments (on‑prem or cloud), giving organisations full control of their data and enabling them to build their own secure digital services on top of it.

The platform is configuration-driven , highly adaptable, and particularly well suited for complex enterprise environments and custom identity flows .

Customers include large, well-known organisations across finance, telecom, retail, gaming, energy, and public sectors .

The company is continuing to build and evolve its core product and is expanding the engineering team to maintain a high development pace, exceptional quality, and strong automation .

You will join a very senior, highly self-driven team working primarily on greenfield development , with minimal legacy maintenance.

You will work hands‑on with the core backend product , contributing across the full development lifecycle.

• Design and develop complex backend systems using Java
• Work with modern identity and security standards
• Participate in architectural and technical decision‑making
• Collaborate closely with a small, highly experienced engineering team
• Influence product direction and bring forward new ideas

• Strong commercial experience with Java (Kotlin is a plus)
• Experience using Gradle
• Deep understanding of object‑oriented design and programming
• Strong Linux knowledge (Mac used as primary workstation)
• Good understanding of REST APIs / Web APIs
• Knowledge of security standards such as:
• OAuth 2.0
• OpenID Connect
• SCIM
• PKI / cryptography
• General understanding of information security beyond IAM
• Some familiarity with mobile application development
