Job Summary
The Software Manager oversees the end-to-end software development lifecycle. This role provides strategic technical leadership, manages development teams, and ensures project delivery within scope and timeline, and drives continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, and team performance. The Software Manager also collaborates with the business and product stakeholders to align development efforts with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple .NET development teams, ensuring high performance and quality delivery.
- Oversee project planning, estimation, and execution to meet timelines, budgets, and objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Consultant, Quality Assurance, Dev Ops, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless software delivery.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, automation, and adoption of new technologies.
- Mentor and develop technical leads, engineers, and assistant managers to enhance capability and career growth.
- Evaluate and improve system scalability, performance, and security.
- Manage resource allocation, recruitment, and competency development within the software team.
- Conduct regular technical and performance reviews of teams and individuals.
- Prepare progress reports, documentation, and management updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of software development experience, with 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Strong expertise in software development lifecycle and technology used. C#, ASP.NET Core / MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, and SQL Server is an added advantage.
- Experience with Azure, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile / Scrum methodologies is an added advantage.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in designing large-scale enterprise systems is an advantage.
