Job Description: Software QA Analyst

Position: Software Manual Tester

Department: Quality Assurance / Software Testing

Reports to: QA Lead / Test Manager

Type: Full-Time

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Manual Tester(4-7 years exp.) to join our QA team. The Manual Tester will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of software applications by executing various test cases manually. The role involves validating that the software meets business and technical requirements by identifying defects, bugs, and 

inconsistencies.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC), strong analytical skills, and a passion for quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

 Test Planning & Design:

o Analyze user stories, use cases, and technical documentation to understand project requirements.

o Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases and test scenarios.

o Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.

 Manual Testing:

o Execute manual test cases on desktop, mobile, and web applications.

o Perform various types of testing such as functional, regression, system, integration, UI, usability, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

o Identify, document, and report bugs, defects, and inconsistencies using bug tracking tools, preferably Azure Devops/TFS.

o Conduct re-testing of fixed bugs to ensure they are resolved.

 Defect Management:

o Track, prioritize, and communicate testing progress and issues to the QA lead and development teams.

o Work closely with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot issues.

o Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing on resolved issues.

 Collaboration & Communication:

o Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.

o Provide input on improving testing processes and tools.

o Work with automation teams to identify test cases that can be automated in the future.

 Documentation:

o Create and maintain test documentation such as test plans, test reports, test scripts, and traceability matrices.

o Ensure all test results are well-documented and can be referenced easily.

 Continuous Improvement:

o Provide feedback on potential improvements to the software development process.

o Stay updated with industry trends in testing methodologies, tools, and 

technologies.

Skills & Qualifications:

 Education:

o Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or any related field.

 Experience:

o Proven experience as a Manual Tester or similar role in a software development environment.

o Hands on Experience/Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

o Experience with test management and bug-tracking tools like Azure Devops/TFS.

 Technical Skills:

o Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and processes.

o Experience with writing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

o Knowledge of SQL(MS SQL/PostgreSQL) for backend testing.

o Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, or other front-end technologies is a plus.

o Experience in cross-browser testing and knowledge of mobile application testing.

 Soft Skills:

o Strong attention to details, critical thinking and analytical skills.

o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

o Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

o Problem-solving mind-set with a proactive attitude.

o Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-tasking and manage time effectively.Nice to Have:

 Knowledge of automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, or other test automation frameworks.

 Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or SOAP UI.

 ISTQB or any other software testing certification.

 Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and how they relate to the testing process.
