What you’ll achieve


As a Senior Principal Software Engineer to provide technical vision and organization-wide leadership for quality engineering across the PowerProtect Data Domain portfolio. In this role, you will define and drive the AI-first quality strategy for large-scale distributed storage and data protection systems. You will influence architecture, development practices, and release confidence across multiple products, working closely with senior engineering leadership, architects, and product owners to deliver industry-leading reliability, performance, and customer trust

You will:

  • Define and own the long-term quality and AI strategy for distributed storage and data protection platforms. Establish AI-driven quality architectures for intelligent test selection, predictive risk analysis, anomaly detection, and automated release gating at scale.
  • Influence product and system architecture to ensure testability, observability, and resilience are built in from design through deployment.
  • Serve as the highest-level technical authority for diagnosing complex, cross-product reliability and scale issues.
  • Mentor and guide I7/I8 engineers, principals, and architects, raising the technical bar across the organization. Partner with executive leadership to align quality initiatives with business outcomes, customer experience, and cost efficiency.

    Essential Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in experience in software engineering, SDET, or platform engineering, with senior principal–level technical leadership. Deep experience in large-scale distributed systems, storage platforms, and high-availability architectures.

  • Proven track record of architecting AI/ML-powered engineering systems, such as - Predictive quality and release risk models, Intelligent test orchestration and execution optimization, Anomaly detection across logs, metrics, and traces

  • Strong coding background with the ability to prototype and review complex systems in Python, Go, or similar languages.

  • Expert-level understanding of CI/CD ecosystems, observability stacks, and cloud-native platforms.

  • Experience influencing architecture across multiple products and engineering organizations.

  • Recognized thought leadership in quality, reliability, or AI engineering (patents, publications, internal frameworks). Experience driving enterprise-wide DevOps or quality transformations.

  • Exposure to regulatory, security, or compliance-driven validation at scale.
