Job Brief: r Process is seeking a skilled Grid Connections Officer to support the Energy Solutions business by driving productivity and operational efficiency in grid-related processes for Solar PV and Energy Storage projects across various geographies. This role is responsible for the standardization, preparation, submission, tracking, and receipt of utility and DNSP application approvals required during project delivery.
Working closely with engineering, project management, and client-facing teams, the Grid Connections engineer ensures accurate technical inputs, timely approvals, and compliant documentation to enable seamless project execution. You will be reporting to the Technical Manager Energy Delivery Services (EDS).
Roles and Responsibilities
• Prepare, submit, and track online DNSP applications for Solar PV and ESS projects across various geographies grid networks.
• Review and interpret load profiles, retailer tariffs, and network charges to support accurate grid-related assessments.
• Read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) to validate technical compliance for application submissions.
• Coordinate with internal engineering and design teams to ensure all technical documentation aligns with DNSP requirements.
• Liaise with utility providers, retailers, and network operators to secure timely approvals, respond to queries, and escalate issues when required.
• Maintain an organized and standardized workflow for grid application processes, templates, checklists, and documentation libraries.
• Track approval timelines, update stakeholders proactively, and ensure dependencies are met for project delivery milestones.
• Support assessments related to PV/ESS system impacts, export limits, technical constraints, and network compliance.
• Work with international and domestic clients to communicate status updates and required actions.
• Prepare weekly progress reports, risk items, and application summaries for the delivery team.
Requirements & Skills
• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Solar PV, grid connections, DNSP application processes, or technical coordination roles in the overseas energy sector.
Must-Have Skills:
• Load Profiles and Energy Consumption Analysis
• Exposure to utility-scale or C&I solar projects
• Retailer Tariffs and Network Charges (Various Geographies)
• Reading and Interpreting SLDs
• Solar PV and ESSF fundamentals
• Online DNSP Application Platforms
• Technical Documentation Handling
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Knowledge of Discounts/Subsidies in overseas Solar Market
• SCADA Awareness
• Safety and WHS Awareness
• Experience handling international clients and phone-based coordination
