About the Role
As a Solution Designer, you’ll work within the Member Data Platform team to design and deliver end-to-end solutions that not only support our data platforms but also drive real business outcomes. You’ll collaborate with architects, governance teams, and a wide range of business stakeholders - translating complex challenges into practical, value-driven technical solutions.

This role requires a unique blend of hands-on cloud data engineering expertise and exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to ensure solutions are aligned with business needs and deliver measurable impact.
  
Key Accountabilities:

  • Translate high-level business initiatives into detailed technical specifications and solution designs.
  • Produce high-quality source-to-target mappings, architecture diagrams, and pipeline patterns.
  • Design and build scalable data pipelines across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Define data collection standards and ensure data quality, lineage, and observability.
  • Lead solution design discussions in architecture forums and own end-to-end delivery.
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand data challenges and provide trusted advisory.
  • Mentor team members and uplift data engineering standards.
  • Provide training and support for data consumers.

  • Data Modelling: Kimball, 3NF, Canonical
  • Languages & Frameworks: SQL, Python, Spark
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena), Azure (bonus)
  • Data Engineering Tools: Airflow/Astro, DBT, ETL tools (Informatica, DataStage)
  • BI Tools: Power BI, Tableau
  • Other: CI/CD, DataOps, Erwin/Data Architect, Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

About You
You’ve built your career as a Data Engineer and successfully transitioned into a Solution Designer, combining deep technical expertise with the ability to design scalable, business-aligned solutions. You bring exceptional analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement skills, and a collaborative mindset that drives results. You’re now ready to take that experience to the next level - working on a bigger scale, influencing architecture decisions, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes.
  
Your Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in designing and delivering complex data solutions within enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in data modelling using Kimball and 3NF, with a deep understanding of best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure & AWS cloud data platforms (including Redshift) and proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark.
  • Solid experience with ETL/ELT tools (any major platform) and orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or dbt.
  • Ability to enforce technical governance, ensuring adherence to approved designs and standards across delivery teams.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders, translating complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments and managing multiple projects concurrently.
