The Opportunity
A large, complex organisation is looking for a Lead Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping its technology direction and maturing its architecture capability.
This is a broad, senior role that sits between Solution Architecture and Enterprise Architecture, ideal for someone who enjoys building practices, developing patterns, and bringing clarity to complex technology landscapes.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the organisation's architecture practice
• Define architecture patterns, standards, and reusable capabilities
• Provide architectural oversight across major transformation initiatives
• Design and govern cloud and hybrid architectures, primarily within Microsoft Azure
• Assess and recommend platforms, tools, and technology stacks with a focus on simplification and reuse
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear architectural outcomes
• Work across Microsoft platforms as well as third-party systems (e.g. ERP and CRM platforms)
• Partner closely with infrastructure, security, data, and digital teams to ensure alignment
• Support long-term evolution toward a more formal Enterprise Architecture capability

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in Microsoft and Azure architecture
• Broad technical capability across cloud, data, digital platforms, and security
• Demonstrated ability to create architecture standards and patterns
• Comfortable engaging with senior technical and business stakeholders
• Pragmatic, outcome-driven approach to architecture and decision-making
