This temporary contract role is available for immediate start with an end date of 1 September 2026. A 12-month extension is available. This role would suit those seeking casual employment or work as a subcontractor.

Skills and Experiences

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of enterprise Identity Management solutions, ensuring operational readiness from day one in complex brownfields environments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on Identity Management and broader Cyber capabilities, identifying and solving business problems using fit-for-purpose technology solutions.
  • Direct and guide highly specialised technical teams to meet operational needs and deliver solutions aligned with organisational strategy rather than trends.
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments and negotiate across teams to drive consensus and achieve project outcomes.
  • Work closely with other Solution and Enterprise Architecture teams to shape future direction, capturing and maintaining roadmaps for identity and cyber tooling.
  • Specify procurements and drive technical evaluation and selection of the right tools for the organisation.
  • Balance emergency incident response that competes with project milestones and deliverables, maintaining momentum across multiple priorities.
  • Uplift organisational capability across cloud, architecture, and transition‑to‑service domains.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels to achieve program outcomes.

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  • Australian Government Security Clearance maintained at Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) is required of this role.
  • Proven experience leading Identity and Access Management (IDAM) implementations using modern COTS solutions.
  • Strong background across multiple domains including Cyber Security, Cloud, On‑premises Infrastructure, Procurement, and Policy.
  • Demonstrated experience running operational teams in cyber security and/or identity management.
  • Deep understanding of secure government environments with current knowledge of cloud technologies and operations.
  • Proven ability to drive business change and technology implementations from both technical and business perspectives.
  • Strong business acumen with experience managing complex brownfields environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills across all organisational levels.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Architecture frameworks and strategic roadmap development.
  • Ability to specify technical requirements and lead procurement evaluation processes.
  • Track record of delivering operational solutions that meet business needs in politically complex environments.

On commencing with a23, all employees and subcontractors are provided with the a23 Policy Handbook and asked to acknowledge their understanding and commitment to adhering to its policies. All employees and subcontractors are also assigned a suite of mandatory training that is required to be completed on an annual basis. All a23 workers are to take all reasonable care of their own health and safety and ensure that their actions does not adversely affect the health and safety of others.
