Summary
The Solutions Architect II / Systems Engineer III serves as a senior technical expert responsible for designing and integrating enterprise-class solutions across the PMW 790 STACC environment. This position provides architectural guidance, systems design leadership, and technical oversight for modernization, cloud adoption, Zero Trust implementation, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) integration. The architect works closely with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure all solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Navy enterprise standards.
Responsibilities
+ Lead systems architecture design and documentation for new or evolving STACC services.
+ Develop technical roadmaps and integration strategies for hybrid cloud, IaaS/PaaS, and containerized solutions.
+ Translate operational and functional requirements into secure, maintainable, and interoperable architectures.
+ Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, design patterns, and tools that improve mission effectiveness and system resiliency.
+ Implement Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools (e.g., Cameo, SysML) for requirements traceability and design governance.
+ Collaborate with Cyber, Network, and Platform teams to embed Zero Trust and RMF compliance within solution designs.
+ Support architecture reviews, design approvals, and configuration-control boards.
+ Provide technical leadership across engineering teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring consistency in documentation and implementation.
+ Develop architecture diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), and data flow specifications supporting system integration.
+ Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and program offices to validate compatibility and lifecycle support strategies.
+ Lead innovation sprints and proof-of-concept efforts to evaluate emerging technologies for mission fit, integrating results into MBSE and future-state architecture designs aligned with enterprise standards.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
+ Experience with DoD enterprise architecture, PEO C4I modernization efforts, or PMW 790 system-integration initiatives is highly desirable.
+ Strong knowledge of MBSE and Zero Trust architecture.
+ Experience in Cloud Smart adoption and Agile transformation.
+ 7+ years of systems-engineering or architecture experience.
+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team; ready for occasional travel or onsite support as required.
+ Proven problem-solving abilities with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
+ Excellent communication skills: able to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Clearance:Secret (eligible for TS/SCI)
