Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Sourcing Officer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure the company obtains high-quality materials, products, and services at competitive prices. The role involves supplier management, cost analysis, contract negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- identify new potential suppliers and alternative materials.
- Request, review, and analyze quotations to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, supplier databases, and contract terms.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, engineering, finance, etc.) to understand sourcing needs.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement in the supply chain.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or related field.
- Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain role (1–3 years or more depending on level).
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques, as well as market analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
