The Role:

The Client is seeking a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day management of kitchen operations. This is a hands-on leadership role, with a strong focus on service execution, team supervision, and maintaining high standards across food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency.

The role suits a motivated Sous Chef looking to step into a key leadership position within a supportive and well-established environment.



Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in delivering smooth and efficient services
  • Lead the kitchen team during service, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Assist with ordering, rostering, and general kitchen operations
  • Uphold food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards at all times
  • Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff
  • Contribute to a positive, energetic, and professional kitchen culture



    • Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef or in a comparable leadership role
  • Background in fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environments
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative leadership style
  • High personal standards and a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to relocate and commit long-term to the venue
  • Familiarity with North Queensland dining culture is advantageous
