Job Title: Spanish Teacher (PYP, MYP, DP)

Location: Bloomingdale International School

Reports To: Head of School (HOS)

Job Summary:

The Spanish Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Spanish language instruction across the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP) . The teacher will create a stimulating learning environment that promotes language proficiency, cultural understanding, and critical thinking skills among students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans that align with IB curriculum standards for PYP, MYP, and DP.
  
• Foster an immersive Spanish-language environment to enhance students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  
• Use a variety of teaching methodologies, including inquiry-based learning and interactive activities, to engage students.
  
• Assess and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching tools to enhance language learning.
  
• Promote an appreciation of Spanish culture and literature through classroom activities and events.
  
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and contribute to the IB philosophy.
  
• Prepare students for IB assessments, ensuring they meet program requirements.
  
• Participate in professional development and IB training as required.
  
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster a respectful, inclusive learning environment.
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
  
• IB training and experience in teaching Spanish for PYP, MYP, and DP is highly preferred.
  
• Proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish and English.
  
• Strong knowledge of IB curriculum frameworks and assessment strategies.
  
• Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
  
• Passion for teaching and commitment to fostering global-minded learners.
  

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience teaching Spanish in an IB school.
  
• Experience with online teaching tools and integrating technology into language instruction.
