A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to serve K-12 students, providing specialized instructional support for a leave contract beginning immediately and extending through March 2, 2026, with potential for extension. The role is based in the Englewood, CO area, with the specific location to be determined. Qualified candidates must hold a Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Professional Teacher License with a Special Education Generalist endorsement (5-21). Applications from individuals holding substitute, temporary, interim, or traveler licenses will not be considered unless they have already applied for the proper SPED license with verification. Candidates should be prepared for an interview focusing on teaching experience, instructional strategies in Specially Designed Instruction, and supporting students working toward alternative standards. Key responsibilities include: Designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with students unique needs Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary IEP team members to support student progress Applying specialized teaching methodologies and strategies tailored to students with diverse disabilities Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to meet learning goals Maintaining compliance with all state and federal special education regulations The ideal applicant will have extensive knowledge of the IEP process, demonstrated experience in special education instructional practices, and a clear understanding of the importance of collaboration within the educational team.
