Job Description
A Special Education teaching opportunity is available within an elementary school setting in Hampton, VA. This contract position, running for the current school year, involves working closely with 9th-12th grade students in a resource inclusion classroom. The caseload will typically include around 18 students, supported by paraprofessionals to enhance individualized learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, initiate, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet students unique needs
- Collaborate with related services staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student
- Manage caseload effectively, providing both academic and behavioral assistance
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and growth
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia teaching license with a Special Education endorsement is required
- Demonstrated ability to write and implement IEPs
