Overview The Specialist, Instructional Designer has responsibility for the design and development of learning solutions and experiences to support the Required Learning Strategy for MUFG Pension & Market Services. This role will provide creative and technical expertise to ensure that learning solutions are fit for purpose. Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities Operational Management Create and develop engaging and interactive learning modules that are designed with the learner at its core and are responsive to adult learning principles, visual design and accessibility standards. Evaluate, select and manage technical solutions to meet the business requirements. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define scope of learning experiences, clarify learning objectives, projected outcomes and develop and design online courses. Drive initiatives for the continuous improvement of the L&D team. Develop and maintain learning that is in line with MUFG Pension & Market Services’ Learning Design Standards and proactively identify opportunities for going refinement. Develop and implement modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the online learning. Collaborate with the HR Systems team on the testing and delivery of e-learning modules on MUFG’s LMS Maintain learning programs and materials ensuring they are kept up to date to remain business relevant. Manage and drive learning projects from ideation to delivery. Support deliverables to be managed and delivered within agreed time frames. Design and develop using visual design software high quality graphics and visual designs. Develop and maintain detailed storyboards to reflect contemporary learning design and application of adult learning principles, including the development of activities and assessments where appropriate. Partner and collaborate with the Learning and Development teams globally to identify, design and develop learning solutions that are innovative, creative, mitigate risk and support business needs. Proactively educate and communicate to the business about best practice in learning design and solutions to maintain the integrity of the L&D offering. Maintain best practice keeping up to date with emerging trends and practices in learning technology, practices and trends People Leadership Promote a culture of curiosity by being a trusted adviser to stakeholders on learning design and contemporary online learning. Foster collaboration across departments to ensure a unified approach. Be an L&D Ambassador supporting the promotion and engagement across L&D activities and initiatives. Governance & Risk Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Support MUFG Pension & Market Services assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices. Develop and maintain learnings with appropriate approvals in accordance to legislative and regulatory changes. In addition, as the role is part of a global team and flexibility to work outside standard hours may be required in this role. Experience & Personal Attributes Degree-educated in HRM or a related discipline, combined with a strong demonstrated understanding of contemporary learning tools and solutions is desirable 5-7 years of work experience in Instructional Design, preferably with learning management systems. Demonstrated ability to deliver strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering flexible human centred design approaches to learning initiatives. Experience using a range of learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), and Vyond. Demonstrated experience developing high quality, interactive learning solutions which utilize a range of different media sources including animations, graphics and video. Experience using visual design software such as, Photoshop and Illustrator to create high quality graphics and visual designs. Ability to produce detailed storyboards that reflect contemporary learning design and application of adult learning principles, including the development of activities and assessments where appropriate. Ability to work with technical information using a storytelling approach and design learning that meets the requirements of the learner audience. Ability to develop, collaborate and maintain internal and external working relationships. Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts. Ability to be flexible, adaptable & collaborative in working style.
