Specification Engineer

Brief Description - The Specification Engineer is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities in targeted markets, supporting the sales process through accurate quantity take-offs, qualification assessments, and quote creation, and building a strong opportunity funnel aligned with business targets.

The role requires strong technical expertise in MEP systems and large building construction projects, along with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications to support commercial success.

Job Description :

Market Intelligence & Opportunity Development

• Identify and track new projects and opportunities within targeted market segments through data mining and market research.

• Perform opportunity and project qualification assessments to determine business potential, scope fit, and priority.

• Create, manage, and update opportunities in the CRM system with accurate project and stakeholder information.

• Build and maintain a healthy sales funnel and consistently achieve target funnel value.

Technical Evaluation & Quantity Take-Off

• Review and analyze MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, and Bid documents for commercial and technical evaluation.

• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications to understand accurate number of targeted products. Validate project scope, quantities, and assumptions before quote submission.

• Develop a healthy funnel and consistently work toward achieving the target funnel value.

• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, pricing, sales) to ensure timely delivery of quotes and proposals. Reporting & Compliance

• Maintain opportunity updates, quote logs, and funnel health reports as per business requirements.

• Utilize modern data analysis and productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Notion) to streamline evaluations and reporting.

• Demonstrate ownership and accountability in managing multiple requests and delivering high-quality, timely decisions.

Experience and Skill Required

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering.

• 4 years of experience in MEP systems, large building construction, plumbing site execution, Commercial Sinks and drinking water systems.

• Strong understanding of building materials and construction industry standards.

• Proficiency in using digital tools and systems; experience with AI-based platforms is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, (Power Point, Excel, Word, Access)

• Teamwork, presentation, project management, and verbal/written communication skills required

• Customer Driven Sense of Urgency, ability to work independently.

• Self-motivated individual able to multi-task effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
