Specimen Processor
Status: Full Time (40 hours/week)
Shift: typically, 1:30p-10p & rotating weekends
Specimen Processors collect, organize, and route lab samples; enter and share results; answer phones, handle paperwork, help train staff, and complete routine office duties.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide courteous, respectful service; show initiative and assist with departmental needs
+ Monitor pneumatic tube and courier deliveries for timely specimen processing
+ Receive, sort, prioritize, and distribute specimens per lab policy
+ Verify specimens and requisitions for accuracy; resolve errors and document issues
+ Centrifuge, label, aliquot, and store specimens according to policy
+ Enter specimen receipt times and requests into the laboratory information system
+ Answer phone inquiries regarding specimen collection, results, and reference ranges
+ Prepare, package, and send specimens to outsid...
