Spoken English Trainer

The Short Version

Who we’re looking for: Someone who understands the CEFR framework, how adults learn English, cares obsessively about learner outcomes, and can translate this understanding into structured curriculum, assessments, and training systems with clear ownership of outcomes.

What the role is about: Owning and building Kraftshala’s Spoken English Training - from curriculum and pedagogy to trainer quality and learner outcomes - ensuring students move from Pre A1/A1 to B2-level readiness for placements.

Why you should apply: This is a rare chance to institutionalise quality in English communication training at scale, shape how thousands of learners experience confidence and clarity, and directly impact placement outcomes.

About us: Kraftshala is India’s largest higher-education institution in terms of marketing placements, with a 94% placement rate, and we are gunning to become the world’s largest career launchpad, across domains.

We’re backed by a number of eminent investors including ex-unicorn startup founders and CXOs of global giants like RedBus, NoBroker, Nestlé, and Performics.

The Detailed Version

The Spoken English Training exists to standardise and continuously raise the quality of English communication outcomes across Kraftshala.

This role goes far beyond live training. You will be the custodian of spoken English pedagogy, responsible for building curriculum, enabling trainers, defining assessments, and ensuring outcomes translate into placement readiness.

Core Responsibilities & Metrics

  • Curriculum & Pedagogy Ownership: Own end-to-end Spoken English curriculum for Pre A1/A1 learners progressing toward B2 readiness and design learning paths, lesson plans, practice frameworks, and assessments aligned to workplace communication. Metrics to measure: learner progression rates, curriculum adoption consistency, learner feedback scores.

  • Trainer Enablement & Quality Control: Create teaching playbooks, rubrics, and session guidelines; train, coach, and audit Spoken English trainers to ensure consistent quality across batches. Metrics to measure: variance in learner outcomes across trainers, session quality scores, learner NPS.

  • Learner Outcomes & Assessment Frameworks: Define benchmarks for Pre A1 → A1 → B1 → B2 progression and design diagnostic tests, formative assessments, and exit criteria tied to placement readiness. Metrics to measure: CEFR progression data, interview readiness indicators, cohort-level outcome consistency.

  • Live Training & Critical Interventions: Personally conduct high-impact sessions for various cohorts and handle complex learner cases requiring deep communication coaching. Metrics to measure: improvement in flagged cohorts, pre- vs post-intervention confidence and fluency scores.

  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Continuously refine curriculum using learner, trainer, and placement feedback; introduce simulations, mock interviews, role-plays, and voice & accent modules. Metrics to measure: outcome uplift post-iteration, curriculum refresh cadence, trainer adoption of new modules.
