Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

**Position Overview**:
**The Supplier Quality Engineer**
**will provide support to applicable HUS Location’s Quality, with a North American Suppliers Scope. Some South American Supplier interface also possible.**
- Travel >50%
- Support HUS Sourcing team with Supplier Qualification activities, i.e., New Supplier assessments, Source Inspections supporting shipment, First Article Inspections quality performance.
- Provide HUS operations teams support addressing Suppliers that are not meeting quality expectations.
- Champion SCARs to resolution for rejected incoming materials and provide supplier development feedback.
- Using 8D based techniques, RCA, Risk based thinking, FEMA, etc... Analyze and develop Corrective and Preventative actions for Supplier Product Returns, Complaints and Performance Inquiries.
- Author, Edit and Participate in reviews of associated SQE documents to assure the quality of products and processes.
- Using RCA, FMEA, etc. Investigate supplier issues to develop solutions, which prevent re-occurrence.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Assist and promote supplier quality improvements and cost savings, through continuous improvement processes such as Kaizen Events, DF(x), etc...
- Provide expertise in supplier process evaluations, product inspections, and material testing.
- Provide quality support to HUS Materials, Purchasing, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Teams.
- Ensure HUBBELL Drawings are clear and accurate from the Suppliers perspective
- As required:
- Serve as a Quality technical liaison for both HUS & Suppliers.
- Support the creation of inspection procedures as well as visual aids.
- Assist Design Engineering in identifying required revisions to drawings and prints, with emphasis on clear, Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters.
- Develop Suppliers with assistance with Quality Plans, FMEAs, Risks Analysis, Continual Improvements, etc... for both new and existing products to ensure consistently high levels of supplier out-going quality (Products and Delivery).
**Skills and Experience**:
- BSME Degree
- Certified Welding Inspector, Metal Forging/Fabrication a-plus
- **Certified** Six Sigma Green or Black Belt considered a plus
- Must possess a minimum 5 years of Quality experience in a SQE environment.
- Ability to work with mínimal management oversight.
- Working knowledge of Quality & Lean Mfg. techniques & tools
- Microsoft Office Suite of tools (MSWord, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, etc. )
- Problem solving expertise.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills.
- Must have the ability to write procedures, work instructions, and visual aids.
- Ability to interpret product and component prints.
- Basic working knowledge of QA related instrumentation and gages.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001, and Internal Auditing.
