Reports to: D&T Manager – Data Stewardship

Role Summary

The Sr. D&T Analyst – Data Stewardship is an individual contributor role responsible for executing and advancing enterprise data governance practices across HR, Finance, and Enterprise domains. The role partners with domain data owners and enterprise stakeholders to define, operationalize, and sustain data policies, standards, lineage, and quality initiatives aligned with General Mills’ global data governance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply data governance practices across multiple complex, high-visibility domains.

  • Lead domain-level data governance initiatives and act as a single point of contact for transformations.

  • Develop, enforce, and sustain data policies, standards, processes, and guidelines.

  • Partner with domain data owners to define and execute data governance roadmaps.

  • Represent the domain in Governance Councils and facilitate decision-to-action outcomes.

  • Ensure data documentation, lineage, and flows are maintained in the Enterprise Data Catalog (Alation).

  • Support Data Management Plans (DMP/ADMP) and data maturity assessments.

  • Collaborate with project teams to address data quality dependencies and improvements.

  • Coach business partners on applying the enterprise data governance framework.

  • Qualifications

    Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of total experience and 6+ years in data governance or stewardship roles.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience in HR, Finance, or Enterprise data domains.

  • Hands-on experience with data governance and catalog tools (Alation, Collibra, or similar).

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data lineage, data quality, and data lifecycle management.

  • Experience with SQL, data analysis, visualization, cloud platforms, and Agile methodologies.

  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and drive change across stakeholders.
