Sr Cloud Operations Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Operations Engineer to lead and optimise our hybrid infrastructure and application ecosystem. This role requires deep technical expertise in VMware, AWS, Windows/Linux, and Java-based applications, along with strong problem-solving skills and a strategic approach to operational excellence. The Senior Operations Engineer will mentor junior team members, drive automation initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of systems.

What you’ll be doing...

  • Maintain VMware virtual environments and AWS cloud resources.
  • Oversee OS-level support for Windows and Linux servers, ensuring compliance and performance.
  • Provide advanced operational support for Java-based applications (Tomcat / Spring Boot) across all environments.
  • Optimize application performance and lead incident resolution for critical issues.
  • Architect and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions)
  • Partner with development teams to streamline deployments and enforce best practices.

  • Drive automation using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to reduce manual effort.

  • Good knowledge of VMware, AWS services (EC2/ECS/Lambda/RDS/CloudFront), Windows Server, and Linux distributions.
  • Strong experience supporting Java applications in production environments.
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools and DevOps practices. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
