Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Utility Scale Solar PV
Location: Ahmedabad | Full-time | Office-based
Experience: + 5 years (strictly utility-scale solar PV design)
Employment Type: Permanent
This role is designed for experienced electrical design professionals who have worked on large, ground-mounted solar PV projects and can independently handle detailed engineering deliverables across the project lifecycle.
This Role Is NOT Suitable If
You are a fresher, graduate trainee, or early-career engineer
Your experience is primarily site execution, commissioning, or O&M , without deep design ownership
You have worked only on rooftop, residential, or small C&I projects
You do not have end-to-end electrical design exposure for utility-scale plants
You are unable to work full-time from our Ahmedabad office
Mandatory Experience & Skill Requirements
6–8 years of hands-on experience in electrical design of utility-scale solar PV plants (typically 50 MW and above)
Strong command over:
DC & AC system design
Inverter sizing & selection
SLDs, protection philosophy, and system losses
MV/HV interface considerations
Proven experience preparing detailed engineering drawings , calculations, and technical documentation
Proficiency in Auto CAD and Excel-based engineering calculations
Working knowledge of IS / IEC / IEEE standards and grid compliance requirements
Ability to work with minimal supervision and take full ownership of assigned packages
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Key Responsibilities
Lead detailed electrical design for ground-mounted utility-scale solar PV plants
Develop and review:
DC & AC SLDs
Equipment sizing calculations
Protection schemes and system layouts
Prepare client-ready drawings, Bo Qs, and technical submissions
Coordinate closely with civil, structural, and internal engineering teams to ensure design consistency
Support internal reviews, value engineering, and constructability discussions
Maintain high standards of engineering quality, documentation, and version control
