Job Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer
Job Description
The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, directing, and developing all aspects of Electrical Engineering practice to best support production, maintenance, projects, and the continuous improvement process.
Responsibilities
+ Delegate appropriate authority and responsibilities to subordinates in the areas of production support, maintenance support, and project management.
+ Maintain close surveillance over operations through reports, staff meetings, observation, and personal contact to assure project conformance to scope, deadlines, budgetary compliance, and utilization of personnel.
+ Ensure the department is technically and organizationally capable of supporting all required manufacturing activities by appropriate staffing and continuous improvement of all existing departmental personnel.
+ Manage the electrical portion of the capital budget for the plant.
+ Manage and direct capital or operating engineering projects in the role of a Project Engineer, as assigned.
+ Focus on and develop department personnel to continuously improve personal performance and the performance of the entire production facility in relation to electrical safety, knowledge, and skills.
+ Ensure plant compliance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA Standards, OSHA safety requirements, Federal and State environmental requirements, production utilization goals, and facilities support through proper engineering planning, design, and installation.
+ Identify safety concerns, participate in incident investigations, and support the development of corrective actions.
+ Collaborate with the Maintenance and Engineering Manager to develop and recommend budget items.
+ Identify training and development needs and initiate programs.
+ Ensure that the company's values, policies, and programs are consistently practiced.
+ Other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
+ Proven experience in electrical engineering, high voltage, project management, reliability, and maintenance within a heavy industrial environment.
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
+ 5-10 years of progressive experience in engineering roles within heavy manufacturing environments, preferably in metals, mining, cement, or related industries.
+ Working knowledge of project engineering processes, general plant construction practices, building construction, and installation of equipment.
+ Experience using generally accepted engineering and project management software.
+ Knowledge of OSHA, general EPA regulations, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
+ Availability for emergencies and work off-shift hours as needed.
+ Ability to travel to other locations for special projects and meetings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Professional Engineer designation is preferred.
+ Experience with thousands of volts high voltage applications.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $69.71/hr.
