Sr. Engineer, Data - Ingestion (L08)
About the Role:
Sr Engineer, Data is responsible for designing and developing scalable data architectures and ingestion pipelines across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid platforms to support enterprise data and analytics needs. This role collaborates closely with data engineers to analyze, architect, design, and deliver data warehouse and business analytics solutions. The Sr Engineer designs and implements complex data pipelines, optimizes data delivery, and automates manual processes using Python, Spark, Scala, Databricks, SQL, and cloud technologies such as Azure. The role includes mentoring team members to strengthen data engineering capabilities and drive technical excellence. Success is measured by the effectiveness of data engineering solutions, team skill development, and contributions to data architecture innovation that enable data-driven decision-making.

Design and develop data engineering solutions that enable data ingestion pipelines, visualization, and analytical tools to meet business requirements
Architect and implement scalable data platforms across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines to improve data delivery, reliability, and performance
Perform data wrangling, exploration, and discovery across heterogeneous data sources to generate new business insights
Build and enhance batch and streaming data pipelines using modern data integration and ingestion patterns
Contribute to team knowledge sharing and advancement of data engineering standards and capabilities
Mentor and guide team members to strengthen data engineering skills and professional growth
Support project definition activities including estimation, planning, and scoping in partnership with management
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5–7 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and supporting data engineering and ingestion solutions
Strong experience developing and migrating data solutions across cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
Demonstrated experience automating data pipelines using Python and modern cloud-native technologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to complex data ingestion and integration challenges
Ability to manage multiple workstreams with strong organizational and prioritization skills
Passion for learning and applying new data engineering and platform technologies
Advanced experience designing, building, and optimizing complex data ingestion pipelines using Python and SQL
Hands-on experience with cloud-native data platforms and services, including Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake
Experience developing and migrating data solutions across cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Strong experience with SQL, No SQL, and relational database design and development
Proficiency in data pipeline development using Python and experience with languages such as SQL, DAX, Java, Scala, and/or Go
Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big-data data stores
Ability to manage and support batch and streaming data pipelines across enterprise and cloud platforms
Cloud or data platform certifications such as Microsoft Azure Data Engineer (DP-203), AWS, Snowflake, or Databricks
Experience contributing to data architecture standards and ingestion framework design
Experience supporting analytics and business intelligence use cases at scale
Exposure to advanced data orchestration, real-time ingestion, or event-driven architectures
