Role Overview:

The Sr. Engineer - Subject Matter Expert (SME) is pivotal in ensuring technical excellence within the Engineering Services department. This role demands technical ownership, quality assurance, and leadership in guiding the team within the assigned domain. The SME will have hands-on involvement and authority over design reviews, ensuring all project deliverables align with client specifications, domain standards, and internal SOPs. Ideal candidates will have a robust background in New Product Development (NPD), industrial environments, and Engineering Services delivery, particularly within the HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting domains.

Key Responsibilities:

· Own end-to-end technical delivery and act as the final authority before client submission

· Review and approve all designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation.

· Ensure compliance with client standards, codes, and internal SOPs.

· Drive quality through defined checklists, review cycles, and quality gates.

· Solve complex engineering problems and drive corrective actions for recurring issues.

· Mentor engineers, support onboarding/training, and monitor team productivity.

· Proactively identify and escalate technical or delivery risks.

· Support client discussions and pre-sale.

· Lead HVAC system design, sizing, and equipment selection.

· Perform and review heat load calculations.

· Review ducting, piping, and equipment layouts.

· Lead MEP coordination and clash resolution.

· Ensure compliance with authority and client requirements.

· Support authority submissions and technical clarifications.

Tools:

· AutoCAD

· HAP / Elite / Carrier

· Revit MEP

Standards:

· ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC

· Local Authority Codes (UAE, KSA, Qatar, etc.)

Experience:

· 6–8 years in HVAC & MEP - Middle East authority approval exposure preferred
