As a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Apptegy, you’ll shape the architecture, performance, and scalability of our platform that supports thousands of school districts nationwide. You will own the delivery of reliable and high‑performing software, working across the full stack with Vue.js (frontend) and Ruby on Rails (backend) to create intuitive and seamless user experiences. You will collaborate closely with product and design teams to turn complex challenges into elegant, functional solutions.

• Design system architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. Develop and maintain complex full‑stack applications.
• Collaborate with product managers and business leaders to align technical efforts with business goals and contribute to strategic planning.
• Optimize development processes by decomposing large, complex tasks into manageable units of work for efficient execution.
• Proactively anticipate potential technical challenges and approach problems with a solution‑focused mindset.

• Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and ensuring best practices across the development cycle.
• Lead code reviews with a focus on high‑quality, maintainable code that aligns with project standards and limits defect rates.
• Work effectively within teams, valuing diverse perspectives to improve cross‑team collaboration, timeline, and resource management.
• Proactively share ideas, progress, and questions with stakeholders to ensure alignment and explain complex technical decisions and their implications.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on full‑stack development.
• Deep expertise in front‑end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js and back‑end frameworks like Ruby on Rails.
• Experience designing and building scalable, high‑performance systems.
• Mastery of Scrum processes and a track record of effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and project goals.

• Ownership: Demonstrates accountability by taking full responsibility for assigned tasks and proactively addressing obstacles.
• Adaptability & Curiosity: Adjusts smoothly to new tools and evolving requirements while actively learning relevant skills and technologies.
• Problem Solving: Approaches challenges with a solutions‑focused mindset and possesses excellent debugging skills.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).
• Experience with database technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Next.js.
• Experience in the education technology sector.
