Makes plants more productive and efficient by leading the design and implementation of new or improved technologies, systems, and processes. Leads analysis of operating environment; looks for and identifies process inefficiencies and wastes of time, money, materials, and energy. Conducts comprehensive time and motion studies. Develops and evaluates complex pilot programs, simulations, and prototypes. Develops and implements new and enhanced processes and tools. Designs the complex layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Oversees less experienced engineers in conceptualizing improvements, developing business cases, as well as presenting to management and conducting capability studies.
