SR Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Oracle is a leading-edge database and cloud computing company, maintaining the full-stack of a SaaS ecosystem from datacenter infrastructure to front-end software. In this role, you will utilize infrastructure-as-code tools such as Chef and Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning processes.

You will assist in the development of an automated server provisioning pipeline both in on-premise datacenter environments and in the public cloud. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills will be utilized in this role, leaning on traditional system administrator skills with an automation mindset. A qualified candidate should become intimately familiar with existing processes and relentlessly pursue a robustly automated infrastructure provisioning experience. 

Due to a contractual clearance requirement, US citizenship is necessary. 

Responsibilities

Develop infrastructure automation capabilities with IaC tools such as Chef and Terraform

Support and enhance existing scripts and automation with python, go, ruby, and/or bash.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

Contribute to the testing and validation of new technologies

Assist in the transition between on-premise and public cloud datacenter environments

Thoroughly document new and existing processes

Relentlessly pursue standardization and improvement

Qualifications

5-7 years experience with Chef, Java, Ruby

5-7 years experience with Windows Server OS

5-7 years experience with Oracle Linux

Knowledge of datacenter infrastructure and networking

Knowledge of server hardware components
