Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced IT Application Support Analyst to provide end-to-end support for internally developed applications and third-party vendor software. This role focuses on application troubleshooting, configuration management, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate will work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure application stability, performance, and reliability while following Agile and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve application-related incidents to minimize business impact
Provide day-to-day support for internally developed and vendor-based software applications
Manage application installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching
Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability
Participate in functional, integration, and UAT testing for application releases
Support deployment activities and post-release validation
Implement small enhancements using scripting or basic programming where required
Document support procedures, troubleshooting steps, and configuration changes
Generate operational and support reports for monitoring and decision-making
Collaborate with development teams to identify root causes and implement fixes
Conduct end-user training and provide application usage guidance
Follow cybersecurity best practices in application support activities
Contribute to IT policies, standards, and continuous process improvements
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
+ years of experience in IT application/system support or a similar role
Strong experience supporting internally developed applications
Hands-on experience supporting vendor software (installation, configuration, maintenance, deployment)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good experience with databases and SQL
Solid understanding of testing methodologies (Functional, Integration, UAT)
Experience working with distributed teams using Agile/DevOps practices (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with ITIL or IT Service Management frameworks
Experience supporting upstream oil & gas applications (Subsurface, Wells)
Scripting or automation experience (Ansible, PowerShell, Python)
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
Familiarity with low-code platforms (Power Platform)
Experience developing Power BI dashboards
Experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) and ITSM processes
