Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer for our engineering team in Leipzig , who enjoys solving complex and interesting problems. The right person for this role has a solid Backend engineering experience and knows Java and Spring Framework very well. This role is all about hands-on, high quality coding, for high-performing and highly available distributed systems. Since you’ll be a part of a cross-functional team, experience with React Redux frontend technologies is very important, but not decisive.

  • Create and nurture complete functional groups from frontend to backend, while having an eye on the platform’s scalability and security;

  • Develop, implement, test and demonstrate new features within an agile process;

  • Understand how to improve usability, performance and quality assurance

    • Who are you?

  • You have a degree in computer science, engineering or an equivalent practical qualification

  • You have at least 6 years of experience in Java Backend SW development, in a service-oriented environment

  • You have excellent knowledge and experience with Java (8/), Spring (Boot), HTTP, API design, SQL DBs and UML

  • You are an expert in software testing, with a strong focus on automation (TTD experience is a big plus)

  • You have experience in developing microservices

  • You have good knowledge of Apache Kafka

  • You have experience with DevOps and are familiar with service monitoring tools (plus)

  • You are curious, eager to get things done and you are driven to further develop yourself. You enjoy being challenged and have fun while doing your job. You are a strong communicator with very good written and verbal English skills.
