Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analyze the application and compliance of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review documents with precision and clarity.
  • Serve as contact for business partners and outside counsel.
  • Manage projects involving complex and ambiguous legal issues and ensure timely completion.
  • Perform complex and highly technical assignments requiring confidentiality, discretion and sound judgement.
  • Monitor and stay current on changes in insurance and mutual fund distribution laws and regulations in Canada and the US. and proactively inform the team of relevant updates and implications.
  • Qualifications

  • Law clerk diploma or equivalent education
  • Five years of experience as a law clerk
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
