Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who can bring structure, clarity, and delivery discipline to a complex and fast-moving engineering environment.

This role requires a strong leader who can stabilize workflows, enforce SDLC best practices, fix Jira process gaps, and align cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, QA, and Leadership.

Your mission is to reduce rework, protect the team from chaos, improve visibility across the organization, and ensure predictable, controlled delivery of software release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Release Roadmapping
    • Build and manage the release roadmap (MVP + subsequent phases).
    • Clarify scope, objectives, and dependencies for each release.
    • Establish quarterly goals, milestone planning, and delivery checkpoints.
  • Agile & Sprint Execution
    • Own sprint planning, grooming, execution, and end-of-sprint reporting.
    • Define and enforce DOR, DOD, velocity tracking, and capacity planning.
    • Ensure sprint commitments are realistic and achievable.
  • Jira Workflow Governance
    • Redesign Jira workflow to match the real SDLC lifecycle.
    • Consolidate multiple boards into a single source of truth.
    • Ensure every ticket has clear AC, owner, priority, estimate, and correct status.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Lead weekly alignment meetings with CPO, PO, CTO, Dev Leads, QA Lead.
    • Drive clarity across all stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
    • Ensure product expectations are aligned with technical reality.
  • Risk & Dependency Management
    • Identify risks caused by unclear requirements, missing architecture, external dependencies, or unstable team composition.
    • Maintain a risk register and present mitigation plans weekly.
  • Team Coordination & Ceremonies
    • Lead daily standups, refinement sessions, sprint planning, and reviews.
    • Ensure decisions are documented clearly and updated in Jira/Confluence.
    • Guarantee developers always have properly prepared work items.
  • Scope Management
    • Evaluate each change request for timeline, MVP impact, and feasibility.
    • Prevent scope creep through structured decision workflows.
  • Reporting & Leadership Visibility
    • Provide weekly reports including: sprint status, risks, blockers, capacity, velocity, upcoming releases, bug patterns.
    • Offer leadership transparent visibility into project health and delivery readiness.

Requirements

Experience

  • 7–10+ years of project management experience in software development.
  • Strong background in Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Experience stabilizing chaotic or immature SDLC environments.
  • Comfort working with C-level stakeholders (CPO, CTO, CEO).
  • Experience in engineering-heavy SaaS, CRM, ERP, or marketplace platforms.

Hard Skills

  • Agile: backlog grooming, sprint planning, velocity/capacity management.
  • SDLC: release planning, risk management, dependency mapping.
  • Jira: advanced workflow configuration and board structuring.
  • Documentation: Confluence/Notion, Gantt/roadmaps/milestones.
  • Technical understanding (not coding):
    • cloud architectures
    • microservices & APIs
    • QA workflows and automation pipelines
    • integration flows
    • bug lifecycle management
