Job Description

As a Senior, Product Quality Assurance Engineer you will be setting individual goals and objectives in assigned area of responsibility and creates the strategy for accomplishing under the direction of management. This position is also responsible for APQP for new product development, incorporating lessons learned into future designs and processes to prevent recurrence and leading the analysis and resolution of DV/PV non-conformance’s, and analyzing/reporting issues and risks to management in a timely manner to prevent larger issues. The role is responsible for Quality activities in APQP – DFMEA, PFMEA, & control plan preparation, developing QA matrix, is the customer liaison for APQP/PPAP/DV/PV/Customer launch issues, and facilitates problem-solving process for DV / PV open issues.



**JOB DUTIES:**



+ This is a multi-dimensional role interfacing with internal customers (R&D, Engineering, Operations, Reliability Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing).

+ Helping to establish a robust APQP process through the implementation of innovative solutions that drive continual improvement.

+ Participate actively as a core member on New Product Development teams to ensure that product and process quality goals are defined and achieved.

+ Handoff methodology to Product Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering and other applicable functions to ensure an efficient product release.

+ Work closely with Product Management, R&D, Reliability Engineering, Sustaining Engineering and Program Management on the definition of product requirements, design review, verification, and validation requirements.

+ Understand Voice of the customer and final purchaser requirements from marketing requirement document (MRD) perspective.

+ Collaborating with Engineering team regarding Product requirement definition and revisions to match all marketing needs from product and validation perspective.

+ Lessons learned review from previous product versions or similar to create the improvement plan.

+ Safety review checklist development and coordination with other relevant teams to complete the risk assessment and revision with legal team.

+ DFMEA coordination and maturity thru product design phase and quality sustaining after launch.

+ Test plan creation, test cases revision along with engineering to create good processes for an optimal test execution.

+ Test execution revision and understanding of regression test plan in case of failures.

+ Documentation of final official reports for CQ, and the creation of the special reports for different customers.

+ First product inspection (FPI) to identify risk of product launch dates and potential errors to delay the project program.

+ Interface with Product Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure the smooth transfer (Handoff) of new product designs to high volume production in accordance with specified requirements.

+ Assist supplier during introductions of new products/components to ensure compliance to specifications.

+ Perform supplier Quality System, Process and Product audits as required.

+ Communicate program quality risks to stakeholders and core team members and work within the teams to implement effective mitigation.

+ Actively participate in evaluation and qualification of sourced product suppliers.

+ Train and mentor functional resources to understand and support the APQP initiative.

+ Prepare Supplier and Internal Quality KPI's, countermeasures and action plans for supplier quality metrics, on-time delivery, supplier 8D responses, etc. Successful candidate will work with teams to successfully launch new products and drive improved KPI performance in a measurable & meaningful way.



**YOU MUST HAVE:**



+ 5 – 7 years of experience with quality management systems in highly regulated industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical.

+ Strong knowledge with use of tools like: PPAP, FMEA, APQP (Control Plans), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

+ Strong knowledge on APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) with proven records in the successful usage of APQP methodology including understanding the needs of the customer (VOC), analyzing and mitigating failure modes, and product and process validation (PVT evaluation).

+ Experience with design conception in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with mechanical design technical skills (Design of gas valves; tooling and parts development assessment; stack-up analysis; FEA and resistance of materials analysis; fluid dynamics simulation understanding; interpreting engineering drawing and GD&T with working knowledge of measurement methods; layout inspection; gage calibration and industry standards for inspection and testing preferred.
