Qualys helps organizations streamline and consolidate their security and compliance solutions in a single platform and build security into digital transformation initiatives for greater agility, better business outcomes, and substantial cost savings.We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to work on the Qualys Scanner Platform which is Qualys flagship offering.Working with a team of engineers and architects, you will be responsible for prototyping, designing, developing and supporting a highly scalable security platformResponsibilities:----------------Analyze, design, code, and debug complex security softwareProvide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.Required Skills:------------------Bachelor’s in computer science5 years of experience as a hands-on engineer developing software products and solutions for service-oriented deployment in public or private clouds.5 years of C/C programming in a Linux environmentWorking knowledge in Linux KernelDemonstrated skills including design, prototype, development, unit test, performance profiling, etc.Hands-on with development tools like VIM, Jira, GIT, Nexus, Maven, JIRAAgile Development with ScrumDesired Skills:---------------Takes complete ownership of successful delivery of the products components, modules and dependencies assignedDemonstrated high quality focus and exposure to Test-Driven Development.Must have launched or developed complex software projects with multiple complex features with short release cyclesExcellent communications skills, both verbal and writtenSelf-directed; requires minimal supervision on work productsAssertive and must be able to influence team members to meet their commitments in a timely manner and also be able to forge consensus and resolve issues in the face of conflicting goals or interestsTeam player with a “can do” attitude yet modest and humble attitude when it comes to collaborating within team and across other teamsUncompromising attitude when it comes to quality and help raise bar of product, team members and hence overall engineering organization
