The Marmon HDT Research and Development Group supports the Fontaine Modification EV Business serving the heavy-duty commercial vehicle market.

The Sr. Systems Engineer will oversee the entire electric vehicle integration process, from design and development to implementation and maintenance. Current emphasis is on developing emerging vehicle technologies, primarily BEVs and FCEVS. Ideal candidates thrive in an environment where they share responsibility in multiple projects and the nature of assigned tasks varies frequently.

Responsibilities

  • System Integration: Lead the integration of electric vehicle systems into commercial vehicles including powertrain, battery management, electrical systems, mechanical systems and controls.
  • Design and Development: Manage a multi-disciplined engineering team to design, develop and produce BEVs and FCEVs.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Identify gaps in technical knowledge and capabilities and implement countermeasures.
  • Project Management: Manage projects effectively from conception to completion ensuring they are on time, within budget and meet the required quality standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Address technical challenges and troubleshoot complex systems issues, providing effective solutions.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with vendors and external partners to integrate sub-systems and components.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for system designs, specifications and operational procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical or relevant Engineering curriculum.
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or relevant Engineering curriculum preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in system engineering with a focus on electric vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of electric vehicle technologies, including battery systems and power electronics.
  • Experience with code development.
