As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll be a key technical leader responsible for shaping the design and development of scalable, reliable, and innovative AI/GenAI solutions. You’ll lead high‑priority projects, set technical directions for teams, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. You’ll operate with a high degree of technical expertise, strategic thinking, effective collaboration across diverse teams, while mentoring and elevating others to meet a very high technical bar.

You’ll be a strategic technical leader to define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for Conga’s AI/GenAI systems, aligning with company objectives and future growth. You will provide architectural leadership for complex, large‑scale AI systems, act as a thought leader in AI technologies, influence cross‑functional technical decisions and long‑term strategies, and mentor engineers while fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, including 5+ years in AI/ML or GenAI.
  • Proven track record of designing and deploying scalable, production‑grade AI solutions.
  • Experience leading complex technical initiatives that required influencing cross‑functional teams while mentoring teammates and creating space for collaboration and growth.
  • Deep expertise in Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, FastAPI, LangChain, LangGraph, and KubeFlow.
  • Advanced knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, generative models, and LLMs.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and database systems (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate priorities, trade‑offs, and goals clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Ph.D. preferred).

Additional Expertise That Will Give You an Edge

  • Leadership in generative AI solutions, leveraging advanced techniques such as multi‑modal models, reinforcement learning, and responsible AI principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of GCP technologies such as VertexAI, BigQuery, GKE, and DataFlow.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in a DevOps model.
  • Thought leadership in the AI/ML community, contributing ideas through publications, open‑source projects, or speaking engagements.

Compensation & Benefits

U.S. base salary range: $153,692 – $245,908 USD. Pay is determined by skills, experience, and education. Additional variable incentive pay, flexible work options, and a full range of benefits including medical and dental insurance are included.
