The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Engineer to join our dynamic team at W Digital. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, and improving our complex digital systems. You will be a technical leader, guiding your team through challenging projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of our engineering practices, championing quality, efficiency, and scalability.Lead the design and development of complex software systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical best practices.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.

  • Proactively identify and address technical challenges, proposing innovative solutions and driving their implementation.

  • Advocate for and drive progress towards the target state architecture, focusing on resilience, flexibility, security, scalability, and cost effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional digital experiences, while championing continuous improvement in engineering practices.

What You’ll Bring

10+ years' experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Technical Lead with proficiency across multiple languages and tech stack layers. Strong foundation in software design principles and best practices.

  • Proven experience leading technical projects and guiding engineering teams.

  • In-depth experience with GCP, container management (Kubernetes/CloudRun/ECS), and building services on Cloud Run/GKE.

  • Experience with event-driven architecture (Pub/Sub, Eventarc, Workflows) and building CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).

  • 5-10 years' experience building large-scale enterprise microservices using Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, Golang with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Experience integrating with API gateways (Apigee X/Edge preferred).
