Position Title: Staff Engineer Cloud

Job Description:

Roles & responsibilities:

• Provide technical consulting to peer groups and management on infrastructure, OS, and subsystems
• Evaluate vendor software and contribute to RFP, POT, and POC efforts
• Define and implement efficient, cost-effective solutions for complex infrastructure needs
• Collaborate across teams to understand IT requirements and business challenges
• Consult on and lead implementation of innovative cloud technologies aligned to strategic goals
• Define architecture approaches and design solutions that are scalable and reusable
• Ensure adherence to architecture/design standards, security, and compliance
• Drive analysis, design, and planning for solution implementations
• Recommend enhancements to existing software to optimize performance and operations
• Maintain awareness of emerging tools and technologies to drive innovation
• Translate business functionalities into technical design and implementation plans
• Take hands-on ownership of engineering tasks and documentation processes
• Work with project managers in coming up with project plan and WBS, define work breakdown structures, and phase approaches
• Identify automation opportunities and develop scripts for repeatable engineering tasks
• Provide 4th-level support for complex issues, including vendor coordination and escalation
• Guide the team in product validation, release testing, and performance tuning
• Plan systems software/hardware specifications and customizations
• Contribute to the technology roadmap and long-term execution strategy
• Lead by example and provide technical leadership across multiple workstreams
• Mentor less experienced engineers and resolve complex production issues
• Direct infrastructure project teams and ensure delivery alignment

Experience Required:

• In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies and platforms
• Deep expertise in infrastructure as code, cloud automation, and peer review of code/scripts
• Proven experience across multiple technology domains and toolsets
• Advanced knowledge of operating systems, middleware, databases, and integration tooling
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with precision
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting experience in large-scale environments
• Strong ability to understand client and management expectation and resolve issues that may affect delivery
• Ability to manage cross-functional expectations and deliver under ambiguity
• Experience leading distributed teams and working across global time zones
• Demonstrated ability to elevate team capabilities through coaching and enablement
