About Life360
Life360’s mission is to keep people close to the ones they love. Our category‑leading mobile app and Tile tracking devices empower members to protect the people, pets, and things they care about most with a range of services, including location sharing, safe driver reports, and crash detection with emergency dispatch. Life360 serves approximately 91.6 million monthly active users (MAU) as of September 30 2025, across more than 180 countries.
Life360 is a remote‑first company; all positions, unless otherwise specified, can be performed remotely within the United States and Canada.
About the Team
The Developer Experience (DevEx) department plays a pivotal role in shaping how mobile engineering teams build, test, and ship software. DevEx owns the underlying tools, frameworks, and mobile infrastructure that power Life360’s flagship iOS and Android applications and support the mission‑critical experiences used by more than 88 million members.
We build the systems that make engineering at Life360 fast, reliable, and enjoyable—from modernizing our mobile architecture to evolving our build and CI pipelines, to creating internal frameworks, code‑generation tools, automation utilities, and high‑leverage platform abstractions. Our work directly shapes the foundation on which all mobile features are built, enabling engineers to deliver high‑quality, high‑impact experiences for families at scale.
About the Job
We are looking for a Staff iOS Engineer to join our Developer Experience (DevEx) organization. You will shape the vision and execution of the tools, frameworks, architecture, and mobile infrastructure that empower mobile product teams to ship high‑quality features faster and more reliably.
Salary: US $167,000 – $245,000; Canada CAD 194,000 – 227,000.
What You’ll Do
- Lead complex, multi‑team architectural initiatives such as modularization, MVVM re‑architecture, dependency graph overhauls, and build system modernization.
- Drive improvements in our mobile CI/CD pipelines, release and deployment processes, tailoring pipelines to meet the specific needs of mobile developers.
- Establish architectural vision, patterns, and guidelines that enable consistent MVVM adoption across dozens of feature teams.
- Establish and evolve standards for code quality, testing, performance, and reliability across all iOS teams.
- Create next‑generation developer tooling for Life360’s mobile apps, focusing on developer productivity—code generation, automation, CLI utilities, and dependency management.
- Elevate test infrastructure (unit, integration, snapshot, end‑to‑end) and lead efforts to reduce flakiness and improve confidence in shipping.
- Build, measure, and iterate on developer satisfaction metrics to ensure continuous improvements for our community.
- Mentor and lead engineers across the team to elevate code quality, architectural decision‑making, and execution velocity.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of experience building and shipping consumer‑facing iOS applications at scale, ideally supporting high‑MAU products.
- Extensive experience improving Developer Experience within large engineering organizations, including mobile build pipelines, code quality systems, and internal developer tooling.
- Deep expertise in iOS engineering fundamentals, architecture patterns (MVVM), lifecycle management, dependency injection, and navigation paradigms.
- Strong proficiency in Swift, with working knowledge of relevant mobile languages such as Objective‑C.
- Proven experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing infrastructure, and build systems for iOS applications.
- A track record of creating or maintaining internal tools, shared libraries, frameworks, or platform‑level abstractions that enable multiple product teams to build efficiently and consistently.
- Demonstrated ability to identify friction in the development lifecycle and deliver high‑leverage engineering solutions that improve velocity, reliability, and quality across the organization.
- A genuine passion for developer experience, craftsmanship, and empowering engineers to do their best work through better tooling, architecture, and automation.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Benefits
- Competitive pay and benefits.
- Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans.
- RRSP plan with DPSP company‑matching program.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental well‑being.
- Flexible PTO, several company‑wide days off throughout the year.
- Winter and Summer week‑long synchronized company shutdowns.
- Learning & Development programs.
- Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote environment.
- Free Life360 Platinum Membership for your preferred circle.
- Free Tile products.
