Staff Network Engineer

Role and Responsibilities:

In order of significance, list the essential functions and responsibilities of the position.

• Works directly with multiple teams to support Alkami's networking products and solutions
• Configure on-premises and cloud networking systems for Alkami and provide technical guidance and support
• Take ownership of network troubleshooting from beginning to complete resolution and looks to minimize repeat occurrences
• Utilizes various troubleshooting tools and techniques, such analysis of log files and packet captures, to determine root cause of an issue or outage
• Mentors and directs less experienced engineers and other employees in matters of Network Engineering processes and procedures
• Ensures continued smooth operation of Alkamis growing network infrastructure
• Plans and performs systems upgrades, patching, and compliance remediation tasks
• Maintain and administer various network and systems such as firewalls, routers, switches, and load balancers
• Keeps monitoring systems and troubleshooting tools in highly available state
• Works to understand the SaaS model that Alkami uses in application development
• Documents IT activities such as downtime, problems, and systems configurations
• Creates and maintains logical and physical network diagrams, and Confluence knowledge base articles
• Reviews, verifies, and performs various IT system maintenance tasks such as backups, upgrades, and patching
• Provides on-call support during both business and non-business hours as established and in accordance with company's Policies and Procedures
• Assists with network infrastructure assessments for potential business acquisitions
  Job Requirement :
• 8+ years network administration and configuration.
• 6+ years supporting AWS or Microsoft technologies
• 5+ years Linux experience
• Cisco CCNP and higher or equivalent
• 4-6 years AWS or Microsoft Cloud design and implementation
• Advanced AWS certifications
• 2-4 years IaC experience and network automation and programming experience
• Mastery of networking technologies (including load balancers, firewalls, VPN and reverse proxies)
• Demonstrated experience architecting complex network infrastructure
• Advanced Amazon Web Services certificates
