Staff Nurse - Endoscopy

Provide direct nursing care to designated patients in accordance with established standards and procedures.

Ensure that patients undergoing endoscopy or theatre procedures receive safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.

Implement medical and nursing orders accurately, administering prescribed medications and treatments safely and appropriately.

Monitor and promptly report any changes in patients’ conditions to the relevant medical and nursing personnel.

Work independently and take responsibility for the management and delivery of care to assigned patients.

Perform specialized procedures and support the smooth running of the theatre or endoscopy services.

Maintain strict aseptic techniques, and adhere to infection prevention, isolation, and control protocols at all times.

Accurately document nursing care in the hospital’s Meditech system and in all assigned patient records.

Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and documentation in line with hospital policy.

Evaluate and respond to patients’ reactions and needs to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of care provided.

Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) — licence must be in good standing.

Minimum of 1 year of post-registration experience in an acute care setting.

Demonstrated awareness of professional nursing responsibilities and adherence to ethical and clinical standards.

Minimum of 6 months’ experience working in an endoscopy environment.

Possession of endoscopy-specific qualifications or equivalent training is highly desirable.
