Responsibilities

MaxLinear is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join our growing team. This position is in Maxlinear’s Carrier and Broadband Business Unit. In this role, you will focus on the following:

  • Develope cutting edge products like multi-gigabit Wi-Fi Access Points and broadband routers based on Maxlinear wireless communication technology platforms
  • Your will involve working on pre-silicon emulation platforms, writing up software requirements, design and implementing features in WiFi Firmware and Linux Host Software
  • Code review for the next generation WLAN 802.11BE line of products for the WLAN Access Point

    • Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science from a reputed college
  • About 6 years (or more) of relevant experience in WLAN Firmware development
  • Strong knowledge of WLAN protocols (802.11a/b/c/g/n/e/ac/ax). Knowledge of 802.11be and RF is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Embedded Linux software and C/C++ language environment (and dev tools)
  • Experience with design and development of WLAN communication systems
  • Experience with kernel-level WLAN driver development, analysis of kernel crash dump, rcu stalls, other call traces
  • Good knowledge of open source hostapd and supplicant
  • Exposure to WiFi certification programs (e.g. WPA3, 11ax, 6E)
  • Experience in Fast path learning driver development for packet processing
  • Knowledge of open-source community software stacks like OpenWRT, RDKB, Prpl
  • Ability to independently develop and own software modules
