Job Description
The Stamping Process Specialist works in a Concurrent Engineering environment across all phases of product development, responsible for converting a design into a manufacturable product. This professional is also responsible for strategies for conversions and expansions of production capacity, footprint analysis, and the quality and efficiency of metal joining processes. Their mission is to define technical parameters, validate procedures, implement automation technologies and ensure that production meets the most stringent regulatory and productivity standards.
Responsibilities:
- Capex (Investment) and Opex (Expenses) Assessments in Projects
- Development, Implementation and Modification of Production Lines
- Sourcing of Used Equipment for Retrofitting
- Development of Equipment Suppliers
- Development of Manufacturing Processes
- Quality assurance Management
- Innovation and measuring methods
Requirements and qualifications:
- Experience in stamping manufacturing processes
- Six Sigma (Experimentation, Variation Analysis, Capability, Control Charts, Measurement Systems, DOE)
- Quality tools: Statistical process control, measurements methods
- Knowledge of weld equipment manufacturers and tryout
- Time and Methods
- Press Mechanics: In-depth knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic presses
- Metallurgy and Materials: Knowledge of material behavior (high-strength steels, aluminum), work hardening, springback, and stamping lubrication
- Reading and Interpreting Drawings: Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Die Maintenance: Knowledge of bench adjustments, special welding for tools, and polishing of forming surfaces.
- Capacity and Productivity Analysis
- Skill in Process Control (Sild Preparation, Speed Control, Parameter Monitoring)
- Responsibility for Safety and Environment
- Production Ramp-Up Strategies
- Manufacturing Process Certification Methods
- Cost Analysis, Verticalization and Outsourcing of Manufacturing Processes
- AQP (Advanced Quality Plan) product and process development methodologies;
- PFD - Process Flow Design
- PFMEA - Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis tool
- PCP (Process Control Plan);
