This contract position requires strong clinical skills and adaptability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment caring for patients with complex medical needs. Location: Longmont, CO, with work at a leading medical center specializing in solid organ transplants. This facility offers a dynamic care environment with state-of-the-art equipment and a dedicated team. Responsibilities: Deliver direct nursing care to patients recovering from transplant surgeries (kidney, liver, pancreas) and other stepdown conditions. Monitor patient vitals and manage treatment plans, including medication administration such as heparin drips and PCA pumps. Perform wound and drain care including wound vacs, chest tubes, and Jackson-Pratt drains. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Utilize equipment such as bladder scanners, mobile labs, EKG machines, and mechanical lifts. Maintain documentation through Meditech EMR, ensuring accuracy and compliance with unit policies. Adapt to changing patient censuses while maintaining a patient-to-nurse ratio of 3-4:1. Qualifications: Current RN license with Med/Surg and telemetry experience required. Proven experience managing heparin drips and PCA therapy. Solid organ transplant care and PCU/stepdown background strongly preferred. Ability to multi-task, demonstrate reliability, and thrive in a fast-moving healthcare setting.
