Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This contracted opportunity seeks a Registered Nurse with stepdown unit experience, based in Littleton, CO. The role focuses on providing specialized care in a dynamic transplant and stepdown setting, ideal for professionals skilled in Med/Surg and telemetry nursing. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a 34-bed transplant/stepdown unit. Manage patient care with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4. Perform wound and drain care, including wound vacs, chest tubes, and Jackson-Pratt drains. Utilize specialized equipment such as bladder scanners, Mobilabs, EKG machines, and patient lifts. Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, PCTs, and sitters. Adapt to fluctuating patient censuses and care demands in a fast-paced environment. Desired Qualifications and Experience: Current RN licensure with hands-on experience in Medical/Surgical and telemetry nursing. Proven abilities in managing Heparin drips and patient-controlled analgesia pumps. Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience is highly desirable. Experience caring for solid organ transplant patients (kidney, liver, pancreas) is a strong plus. Reliable, adaptable, and capable of multitasking under pressure.
